Character & Word Counter
How characters and words are counted
Counts update as you type. Characters are counted as visible units: a Korean syllable or combined emoji counts as one. Include mode counts spaces, tabs and line breaks; exclude mode skips them. A line break counts as one character. Words are whitespace-separated groups containing a letter or number; punctuation-only groups are skipped. Korean uses space-separated groups, not linguistic word segmentation. Text without spaces is not segmented by language. The whitespace toggle does not change the word count. Your text is not sent to a server or saved.
Use the header buttons to switch languages or light and dark modes instantly. Switching keeps your input, results and running state. Your language and theme choices also apply on later visits and when you navigate to another page.
